Identify if There is a Need to Wash
Washing your waterproof clothing frequently is not a good practice because it damages the quality of the clothing. So better you should first identify if there is a need to wash. If there is simple mud and dirt, you can remove it using the brush. But if there is a problem of wetting out, then it needs to be washed.
Preparing Your Waterproof Jackets
Now that you have identified that your jacket needs a wash, you should prepare for it. First of all, you should remove the dirt and debris off it and then do the zip ups and fasten the straps if any. Remove everything from the pockets. And also remove any removable if any, you can wash them separately.
