Living alone is an exciting experience for everyone, however, there are many things that no one talks about and you simply must learn on your own. Of these things, you’ll find that you have to learn how to cook, clean up and wash the dishes afterwards. You’ll have to learn how to properly shop for groceries and how to safely put them away so that they don’t spoil. Of course, making your own bed on a daily basis is strongly advised, it can actually make things look cleaner, even if that is all that you get done on any given day.
While living on your own has many advantages, there are some life lessons that must be learned first in order for this experience to be successful.
Have you ever shopped for light bulbs or a vacuum cleaner? Do you know the difference between an upright vacuum and a tank-style? What about blue lights and amber glow lights? While all of these things can readily be found online, it’s rare that you’ll find window cleaning for a high-rise on this list.
There are three basic ways to get your windows clean if you reside in a high-rise.
Have you checked to see if the windows pop out?
If you can remove the pane from the frame, you can pop them out, and scrub them off with some window cleaner. Use a microfiber cloth to avoid scratching the windowpane. A plastic bucket works well to hold your cleaning solution. You can then use a squeegee to wipe the window off streak-free.
Don’t be surprised if you have to repeat this process a few times to get them nice and clean. No telling how long the windows have been dirty, and you may have to repeat the process a few times to ensure that they are good and clean. Take your time and remember to use a sweeping motion to avoid streaks. Also, remember that you need to clean the screen as well. Stand them in the shower and spray them off as well. You can use a cleaning solution for this and allow them to air dry before putting them back into the frame.
If you have fixed windows, try this method.
You won’t need to make any acrobatic death-defying feats to clean your fixed windows if they won’t move. Use a strong magnet to keep the outer area in place and simply move it across the window from the inside. This can be done nearly effortlessly. Just make sure that your magnet is strong enough to hold the other magnet on the other side and still hold the cleaning cloth.
If you simply can’t be bothered to clean the windows, there is still hope.
Perhaps your high-rise property manager will do it for you. There are many window washing companies out there that would love to clean your building or get your building owner as a client. You could look for a local high-rise window cleaning company and put them in touch with your building management to try and get your windows cleaned the “easy way”. Professional cleaners use specialized equipment and are trained and certified for safety. There is quite a lot involved in high-rise window cleaning.
If you’re unable to take the time to clean your own windows, or if you’re simply too nervous to do it yourself, there is hope. You can talk to neighbors and the landlord and see if it can be done professionally at no cost to you. All that really matters is that the windows are clean, right?
